Membership

The opportunity to accept and publically acknowledge Christ as Lord and Savior through a statement of Christian faith, transfer of letter or baptism is offered each Sunday during the worship service. A time can be arranged with our Pastor if you would like more information.

Mission Statement

As members of the Fairfax Baptist Church, we strive to be a church family that nourishes personal Christian growth and encourages a spirit of Christian outreach.

  • A Church Family that is freely open to Christians of diverse backgrounds and experiences and provides a place to meet, know and grow together in our understanding and love of the Lord; and that promotes Christian education for all its members to provide the basis for a stronger value system;

  • A Church Family that requires each person that participates in its activities to establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord;

  • A Church Family that stirs its members to witness by seeking opportunities to offer Christian concern and assistance to people in need, both in our neighborhoods and in other parts of the world; and

  • A Church Family that supports organized Christian missions - local, state, national and foreign - and that encourages joint participation with other churches in Christian endeavors.

Our Covenant

The members of the Fairfax Baptist Church enter into covenant with one another and our Lord Jesus Christ

Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and on the profession of our faith having been baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We covenant, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to work together in Christian love:

  • To strive for the advancement of this church in holiness, knowledge, fellowship, and Christian service;
  • To promote its spirituality and prosperity;
  • To sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines;
  • To give it a sacred preeminence over all institutions of human origin;
  • To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spreading of the Gospel throughout all nations;
  • To maintain family and private devotions;
  • To educate our children in the Christian way of life;
  • To seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances;
  • To be just in our dealing, faithful in our duties, and exemplary in our deportment;
  • To watch over one another in brotherly love;
  • To remember each other in prayer;
  • To aid each other in sickness and distress;
  • To cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; and
  • To be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and, mindful of the rules of our Saviour, to secure it without delay.
We moreover covenant that if we move from this community, we will unite as soon as possible with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant.
